Celebrating God’s Faithfulness in 2025

As we reflect on the year as it comes to an end, we invited several trainees to share their highlights from studying with VBC. We are greatly encouraged by all that God has done, and we pray that He will continue to use VBC to grow more deep disciples in the new year.

“It has been a great year of learning for me at VBC. Not only has it given me tremendous encouragement and excitement to study the Word of God, but learning about history, ethics, and other religions has also helped me better understand the bigger picture of God’s great plan. Despite people’s differing views, I now feel more confident in how I can point them to Jesus and boldly share the gospel.”

“One thing which was unexpected yet greatly helpful for my personal prayer life was learning about the name of God. He has revealed himself to be 'Yahweh'. He is 'Lord' (Title), but he is also 'Yahweh' (Name) and he's invited me to talk to him personally. This knowledge has deepened my personal love for God, particularly in my prayer life as I've conversed with my Lord, Yahweh!”

My doctrine class has been nuggets of gold week by week, unpacking the persons of the Trinity, delighting again and again in who our great God is and coming before Him in humility and gratitude that He would seek to save a sinner like me. I love that through VBC my mind is blown each week as together we grapple to try and understand the infinite power and majesty of God.”

“I think two subjects that have been practically helpful for me this year have been Evangelism and Small groups. They’ve given me some tools to apply to street witnessing and also to my bible study.

Early Church History is really interesting and will come in handy with apologetics along the way.”
